Biras Creek Resort

One of the top luxury accommodations in Virgin Gorda (British Virgin Islands), Biras Creek offers 31 suites. The resort is only reachable by boat or helicopter, which definitely says something about intimacy. The guests can choose between four types of suites, depending on what they like.

During Oct 15-Dec 18, 2008 prices range between US$675 per night for the garden suite and US$1,750 per night for the premiere suite. The most expensive rates are between Jan 22 and Apr 18, 2008 when for the same type of suites you’ll be paying between US$950 and US$2,500. Rates do not include the service taxes (17%).

The resort also offers special packages for those looking for a romantic getaway. The Biras Creek Ultimate Romance Package is a seven-night package which includes accommodations, all meals, a bottle of Champagne upon arrival, an off-site excursion, and two thirty-minute massages from the spa. During the high season mentioned above, the package costs US$7,005 if you choose the garden suite, US$8,415 if you choose the ocean suite or US$12,650 if you choose the grand suite.

Peter Island Resort

Casual, informal, yet located on a private island…this is in short Peter Island Resort. The resort has quite a lot of popularity among couples and those promoting romantic destinations. It has been designated as “Best Places to Stay in the World” and “Top 20 Islands” in the world.

The Romance and Honeymoon Packages are definitely the best choice if you are a couple looking for a romantic Caribbean getaway. The package includes a bottle of champagne, an invitation to a gourmet vintner dinner, day trip to location of choice and many other standard package amenities. You can choose between the 4 day or 7 day package. During Nov and Dec 2008 the prices are at their highest. You’ll be paying US$3,025 per package for a 4 night package in the ocean view room or US$4,855 for the 7 night package in the same type of room.

Sugar Mill Hotel

Small hotel, with a private beach and lovely places for snorkeling…a lush tropical retreat where intimacy is not a problem; sounds like paradise and maybe that’s exactly what it is. The 23 rooms offered by Sugar Mill Hotel have AC, fan, wi-fi and a kitchenette. The restaurant is renowned for its romantic atmosphere which makes this place even more appealing for those looking for a perfect romantic getaway. And yes, you can have them organize your wedding as well.

During spring and fall (Apr-May & Nov-Dec) the prices range between US$275 per night for a deluxe double room and US$585 per night for a deluxe villa with 2 bedrooms. Meals are not included in this price.

The honeymoon package includes 7 nights in a Deluxe accommodation, champagne on arrival, 3 day jeep rental and some other interesting activities and costs US$2,861 per package –meals not included – during the winter.

Nail Bay Resort

A former 19th Century Sugar Plantation is now an intimate resort in Virgin Gorda. All villas have a private pool and are equipped to offer the guests the possibility to cater for themselves. You can easily turn these villas into your own home away from home for couple of days. You can choose between small 1 bedroom villas, big 4 bedroom villas and anything in between.

The Sunset Watch One BR Upper Deck, which is a 1 bedroom villa located right on the beach and offering access to a shared pool costs US $360.00 per night during winter. The honeymoon package in this villa costs $2,745.00 (8 days/7 nights).

Other 1 bedroom villas have relatively similar prices: US $440.00 per night during winter and US$2,970.00 for the honeymoon package; or US$265.00 per night during winter and US$2,230.00 for the honeymoon package and the examples can go on and on.

Neptune’s Treasure

If you are looking for something simple (and cheap also) this is probably the best choice for you. The simplicity of the place is definitely compensated by the location: on the Southwestern Shore of Anegada, the most unique island in the chain of the British Virgin Islands. Although they define themselves as a family oriented resort, it’s not that hard to have the intimacy you are looking for.

The winter rates (Nov 15-May 14) range between US$110.00 per day, double occupancy or US$275.00 per day for the cottages (upstairs or downstairs rooms). The following surcharges are not included in the price: government tax (10%), energy surcharge (15%) and maid service (10%).
