Vacations in the Dominican Republic

Being home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, some of the greatest diving spots and countless other possibilities to spend your free time, the Dominican Republic is an excellent choice for a vacation, whether you are looking for a romantic escape or an active time.

Accommodation

The Dominican Republic is one of the best islands in the Caribbean to head to if you want intimacy. You’ll find here adult resorts which cater for the intimacy and romance which couples desperately seek on their honeymoon. Also, many resorts are all inclusive so you don’t have to bother with anything but showing up on time for all the activities which are possible within the resort.

A variety of sports can be practiced either within the resorts or very close to them. As part of the all inclusive packages, many resorts offer an hour at the tennis court or Merengue lessons. Diving courses are available and the resorts can arrange diving tours for their guests.

Things to do

Dominican Republic is a fascinating country which offers a lot of entertainment opportunities for the traveler. Sports can be practiced year round, the nigh life is magnificent, the beaches are superb and for those into gambling, nothing compares to a night in one of the casinos.

The water sports include snorkeling, windsurfing, kiteboarding and boating. For those who like golf, there’s also the possibility to play it here. Punta Cana is home to the longest coral reef on the island hence a great place to go snorkeling or diving (the area has rough waters so it’s not a place recommended for the beginners). If you are heading to the North Coast, the best time to go snorkeling there is between June and September.

The national parks offer a good chance to check out the local flora and fauna while hiking on the lovely trails. Bird watching is also a favorite past-time while on vacation here.

Playa Rincon has been listed among world’s top 10 most beautiful beaches. It’s 3 miles long and surrounded by coconut and almond trees, plus it’s isolated so it provides the intimacy you want on your vacation.

The Amber Museum is located in Puerto Plata and comprises a collection of world’s most transparent amber. Remember the amber mosquito from Jurassic Park? Yes, it’s here!
