Hotels in Jamaica

The hotels in Jamaica are for pretty much any budget. You can find cozy inns if you are looking for a budget place or even a castle if your budget leaves some room for splurges. Without a doubt, the preferred destinations are Negril and Ocho Rios, both for their beauty and the possibility to explore the island.

Climate and tourist season

Jamaica’s climate is tropical, with hot and humid weather. The higher island regions, however, tend to have a more temperate climate. The island is located right in the hurricane belt of the Atlantic Ocean which means that during the wet season – June to November – can get significant damage due to the storms. Unless you have the misfortune to be hit by a hurricane while in Jamaica, the weather, the average temperatures are 30°C (86°F) during the days and 20°C (68°F) during the nights.

The high season – or “winter” lasts between mid-December and mid-April when the prices are at their highest. During Christmas, New Year and Easter resorts usually charge peak season prices.
