St.Maarten / St.Martin is a Caribbean island split between French Guadeloupe and the Dutch Netherlands Antilles. Marigot is the capital of the French side, officially known as Saint Martin.
Need to know
Although the island is divided between France and Netherlands, the travelers don’t need a passport to go from one side to another. However, please note that the French side uses 250V/50Hz power while the Dutch side uses 110V/60Hz power.
The Dutch side is more developed but the French side has a more European feel to it. The Dutch side is more popular among American vacationers.

On the French side you can find a nude beach and a nude resort so it’s clearly the place to go for those who like to enjoy a naturist vacation. The French side is also the cheaper. There are plenty of packages available and a variety of water sports can be practiced right by the hotels/resorts.
Things to do
There are plenty of beaches on the island but if you are after nude bathing head to Orient Beach. Plenty of bars and restaurants pop on the beaches. It’s just a matter of finding whatever pleases you (or avoiding the crowds, if necessary). A variety of water sports can be practiced on the beaches right by the hotels/resorts.
For a nice shopping experience head to the Dutch side. The capital of Phillipsburg is filled with incredible shops.
Nature tours and admiring the butterflies are also interesting activities which can be practiced here.
