Caribbean Destination Wedding Planning
Jacqueline Johnson, wedding guru, recently launched a new website for those of you tying the knot in the Caribbean. MarryCaribbean.com is a tool for couples to help with planning your Caribbean destination wedding. The site is designed to be a one-stop shop for creating your perfect destination wedding.
On MarryCaribbean.com, you can find information on:
- Wedding planning services
- Passport information
- Marriage laws and customs
- Dining and nightlife
- Activities and all the amenities the Caribbean has to offer and
- Keeping your crazy future in-laws away (okay, I just made up the last one)
Who is this Jacqueline Johnson? I’ll give you the straight dope from the press release:
With an extensive background in the industry, Johnson has been recognized often for her expertise on the Bridal market. The Caribbean Tourism Organization has awarded Johnson a medal of excellence as one of the 50 most influential persons in the Caribbean, as well as awards for leadership, dedication and outstanding service. She also has been recognized by the Jamaica Tourist Board, the United States Virgin Islands and Conde Nast publications.
Jacqueline Johnson, hailing from the Island of Jamaica, is one of the most knowledgeable speakers in the bridal industry. Her company is the only Black-women-owned business in the wedding market. As a Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) she has also held the position of Executive Travel Director of Brides, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride, Brides Destination Weddings & Honeymoons and Brides.com, and with Bridal Guide as VP/Associate Publisher.
Believe it or not, it goes on for several more paragraphs. I’ll just assume you know she’s got serious street cred in the wedding industry and knows her stuff as a Caribbean native.
I had a look at the website and it seems to be a decent resource. You can find posts on crucial items like the Top 19 Ways to get your Guests to Come to your Destination Wedding (If I were to write a similar article it would be 1. Provide free booze. End of list) and The Dos and Don’ts of a Destination Wedding. Each island nation of the Caribbean has a dedicated page with an overview of the island, as well as information on obtaining a marriage license in that particular locale. With no plans to get married
any time soon ever again, I’ll have to take your word on how useful the site actually is.
Congratulations and happy planning!
