If you love fashion AND the beach, you’re in luck this October. From October 9 to 13, you can have it all at the 2nd Annual Virgin Islands Fashion Week, which will take place at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort and Spa in St. Thomas. The event will feature nearly two dozen designers from points around the globe. You can see for yourself everything from street to couture at this catwalk.
Zulema Griffin of Project Runway fame will work along with Guyanese-born, international designer Roger Gary and Bianca Golden from America’s Next Top Model. In addition, designers will represent their home countries of St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Trinidad, Barbados, Dominica, as well as Guyana and Nigeria.
The event will include activities such as an upscale fashion show, fashion expo, press conference and after-parties for the fashion attendees.
According to the St. Thomas Source, “The main goal of VIFW is not to provide new and experienced designers with a platform where they can showcase their unique talents and creativity while further enhancing the Caribbean’s fashion tourism market but to showcase and highlight the talent of local designers. Over 40 local models, stylists, photographers and make-up artists will have the opportunity to network and be a part of the V.I. fashion movement.”
Ladies, if you’re planning a girls trip, this could be the place to be.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Family Resource Center, so you can even feel good about contributing to a cause.
