We have ridden in many countries but Rancho Lorilar has the best riding that we have ever experienced! It's western riding style which is a lot easier than english style. There are over 80 horses at the ranch and unlike some ranches all the horses are well cared for. Safety is paramount and you are provided with a horse that will suit your riding experience. It doesn't matter whether you've never ridden before or if you are an experienced rider - they will have a horse that will be right for you. Safety helmets are provided and Joyce the horse lady gives a very entertaining briefing before you commence your real Dominican Adventure! A range of tours is available - half day, full day or private tour. I'd recommend the full day because you get to visit the restaurant where you will be able to enjoy traditional Dominican Rebublic food and it is delicious! On horseback you have the time to take in the scenes and views - you will pass through some breathtaking countryside and amazing views across to the ocean as you make your way along the numerous trails on Mount Isabel. The guides are knowledgable and entertaining. We had some great rides with Rafael! Don't forget to bring some bananas for the horses from your hotel! I would highly recommend this tour because if you just stay in the hotel then you haven't really visited the Dominican Rebublic!

Contact details for the ranch can be found at www.lorilarranch.com
