Save the Turks & Caicos Rock Iguanas
Turks & Caicos is one of those Caribbean destinations that has sold its soul for the tourist dollars. Development has run rampant in recent years, with resorts springing up on more and more of the nations many islands. That is, of course, disastrous to the indigenous wildlife of the area.
Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay has with Dr. Glenn Gerber of the San Diego Zoo’s Center for Conservation and Research for Endangered Species (CRES) to address this very issue. Dr. Gerber is working hard to preserve native Turks & Caicos …

Shirley Heights in Antigua
Shirley Heights is a former military fort found on the stunning island of Antigua. At the top, you’ll find former military buildings, big holes where guns used to sit, and all of the other antiquities you expect from a past military encampment. Even if you could care less about the fort or its history, the real reason to visit Shirley Heights is to enjoy the spectacular views of the area, with vistas stretching across English Harbor and Nelson’s Dockyard. The sunsets aren’t to shabby, either.

Caribbean Real Estate Listings
If you’re anything like me, when you take a vacation in a beautiful tropical destination like, well just about any place in the Caribbean, you might start dreaming about buying property so you can escape the reality that is life and live on the beach in the sun. Even just dreaming about it helps to offer some escape to me.
Now for the other half of the equation, there are people who are actually (gasp) selling their properties located in paradise. No way can any of them be leaving, so they must be …

Martinique Rum Distilleries
Some of the best rums in the world are created on the tiny island of Martinique, giving visitors yet another great reason to visit this French territory in the Caribbean. The runs from the island have been bestowed with the appellation d’origine contrôlée award, which certainly sounds very prestigious. Rum distilleries throughout the island welcome visitors to tour the facilities and sample the product. Yummmm!
St. James Distillery: The St. James Distillery is found at Sainte-Marie in the north. St. James operates the Musée du Rhum (Rum Museum). …
